Broody silkie how many eggs




















I have let them sit on more before but they got chilled when they rotated them. Thats just me, to be sure they will cope only 6!!!!

She had to lift them up several inches to get them over the edge of the box. I'm amazed at how chickens can move eggs. I almost agree with the arm theory! I didn't know they could hold chicks either. You pick them up, and they have almost half a dozen chicks tucked under their wings that you don't know are even there unless you spread the wings and give them a little shake, LOL.

Be sure the hen has plenty of food and water very close to her nest. You can take her off the nest to stretch and just collect the eggs promptly from under her. There is another problem with letting a broody hen stay broody. Louise is a large bird and is at the bottom of the pecking order, however, she is a monster when broody.

I have found the best way for my girls is the crate method, 3 or 4 days and they are sorted. You can't let them out until they have cracked.
