Why does blackbeard kill the cook

A young Cabin Boy successfully stole all of the swords and cutlasses from the armory and brought them to the table around which the crew were sitting.

The adults congratulated him, before getting onto the topic of discussion: mutiny. After the rest of the crew admitted to never having seen Blackbeard, Jack Sparrow attempted to convince them that they were not on his ship.

But, Scrum soon debunked this theory, saying that he'd seen the name on the back of the ship. But, nevertheless, Jack convinced them all to grab a sword and attack the Zombie officers on the deck above them. The cook participated in the mutiny, and was standing on the main deck fighting a pirate as Jack Sparrow was dueling the Gunner Zombie. However, as the cook and another pirate were pinning down a Zombie pirate with a net, Blackbeard suddenly arrived from his cabin.

Blackbeard used the magic-infused Sword of Triton to control the ship's rigging, making the rigging wrap around the legs of the pirate crew and hanging them all from the mast. After finding out that the cook had been standing watch for the night, Blackbeard decided to punish him.

The rest of the crew were then forced to watch helplessly as the ship's cook was burned alive and Zombified as punishment for the mutiny. As a Zombie, the cook was with the crew when they reached the island on which the Fountain of Youth was located. The crew required a Mermaid's tear to complete the ritual at the Fountain, which they would find at Whitecap bay.

In order to catch the Mermaid, they required light; so, as around half of the crew rowed out on longboats, the cook went with Blackbeard, Angelica and Jack up onto a lighthouse and operated the light. Soon, the Mermaids attacked the pirates, and the cook fought in the battle. He survived, and was with the crew as they continued their voyage away from Whitecap bay with one Mermaid. Later, the zombie was surprised when Philip Swift, a fellow crewman, stood up to Blackbeard after the captain referred to the Mermaid as "it".

On Stranger Tides. The Cook was a pirate who operated during the midth century. The Cook would be killed and later turned into a zombie , a fate handed to him by Blackbeard. Not much is known about the Cook's early life, but it is known that he took the life of piracy prior to the midth century. It was here that the Cook, along with a number of sailors and pirates, signed on to sail under Jack Sparrow. Climbing aboard the Queen Anne's Revenge , the Cook worked as one of the ship's chef for the next five days, where he would work with a shanghaied Jack Sparrow.

He later met with Jack and some of the other crewmen, who were not satisfied with sailing under Angelica and her zombie crew , and took part in Jack's mutiny aboard the Revenge. During the fighting that erupted during the mutiny, the Cook took advantage of an impaired Gunner by leaping upon and subduing the man. Jack's crew were soon victorious until Blackbeard himself came out of his cabin.

Blackbeard, in response to being told that the proceedings were the ends of a mutiny, hung all of the crewmen, including the Cook, with the rigging of the Queen Anne's Revenge.

Blackbeard inquired as to which crewman stood watch, after which the Gunner turned towards the Cook. As punishment, Blackbeard sent the Cook aboard a longboat where he would row across the ocean as the bow of the Queen Anne's Revenge turned towards the Cook's direction.

And so Blackbeard asked who was on watch before the mutiny started. Jack Sparrow stated that he was, but Blackbeard scoffed before asking Gunner, who glared at the Cook , who was still hanging by the ropes. Blackbeard then decided that the Cook would pay the price for the mutiny. After the mutinous crew members were released, and the ship's ropes were back to their proper functions, Blackbeard sent the Cook off in a longboat. Greek fire unleashed upon the Cook. In the ocean, the Cook rowed for his life, putting distance between himself and the Queen Anne's Revenge.

Blackbeard had the ship came about, lining up with the Cook's longboat. As the longboat burned, Blackbeard told Philip he felt closest to his Maker when he saw pain and suffering, and believed misery lifts the veil from reality, showing life as it truly was.

Philip denied this claim, saying he saw it revealed when kindness and compassion are shown to those in need, in times of hardship and tragedy. Though Philip said there was still hope, Blackbeard ignored the missionary and ordered "Again! Despite the Cook's apparent death by the Greek fire, he was brought back to life—as a zombie. After this display, Blackbeard knew he would not face another mutiny from his crew. But he still had to deal with Jack Sparrow, the man he'd rightly identified as the leader of the revolt.

Jack was brought into Blackbeard's cabin by the Quartermaster, who stabs a knife on Jack's shirt, pinning him to a wall. Blackbeard told Jack that he must reach the Fountain of Youth before the Quartermaster's prophecy of his death comes true. After Jack took the knife to free himself, Blackbeard said it would do no better than his attempted mutiny. However, Jack revealed his mutiny served him well, as it put him in a position to where he could warn Blackbeard of Angelica, saying that she wasn't his daughter.

Though Blackbeard didn't believe his claim, Jack tried to convince him otherwise. Angelica entered the cabin as Blackbeard started to manipulate Jack by using the knife to carve through a voodoo doll he made, modeled after Jack.
